Philadelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson said left-hander Cristopher Sánchez is feeling better after exiting Tuesday's game against the New York Mets after just two innings due to forearm soreness, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com.
Thomson added that an MRI isn't yet scheduled and Sánchez could pitch as soon as late next week.
Sánchez's velocity was noticeably down during his start.
The 28-year-old said postgame he's confident the injury isn't serious but added that he's never experienced anything like this in a game before.
Sánchez owns a 3.42 ERA with 1.29 WHIP and 33 strikeouts over 26 1/3 innings (five starts) this season. He broke out last year en route to becoming an All-Star for the first time during his five-year career.
