Flaherty pulled after recording just 4 outs in Game 5

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Jack Flaherty couldn't get out of the second inning against the New York Yankees in Wednesday's Game 5.

Flaherty recorded only four outs before the Dodgers removed him from the contest. He allowed four earned runs, including home runs to Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr. in the first inning.

Alex Verdugo drove in Anthony Volpe with an RBI single to chase Flaherty, who was replaced by Anthony Banda.

Flaherty is the first starter in World Series history to allow four-plus runs and two-plus homers while lasting less than two innings, according to Opta Stats.

The 29-year-old's postseason has been up-and-down. Flaherty looked good in the NLCS and World Series openers but allowed 12 combined runs in his other two playoff starts.
