Tyler Glasnow suffered a setback in his recovery from right elbow tendinitis, Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday, according to The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya.
Glasnow was slated to throw a simulated game but felt discomfort in his elbow while warming up. Additional testing will be done to determine when he can return, according to MLB.com's Juan Toribio.
The hard-throwing right-hander has been on the injured list since Aug. 16. He also missed several weeks before the All-Star break due to lower back tightness.
Injuries have plagued Glasnow for much of his career. He's already thrown a career-high 134 innings this season despite being sidelined twice.
The 30-year-old has nonetheless dominated when healthy, posting a 2.91 FIP with a 11.3 K/9.
Glasnow is in the first season of a five-year, $136.5-million deal he signed with the Dodgers after they acquired him from the Tampa Bay Rays.
