Orioles place Rodriguez on IL with lat strain
Baltimore Orioles right-hander Grayson Rodriguez has a mild lat strain, manager Brandon Hyde said Wednesday, according to Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun.
Hyde added the team is optimistic that Rodriguez, who'll be shut down from throwing for now, will pitch again this season.
The Orioles placed the 24-year-old on the injured list Wednesday.
Rodriguez was scratched from his start against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday. He was seen telling his teammates that something didn't feel right minutes before he was scheduled to pitch.

The Orioles recalled lefty Keegan Akin from Triple-A in a corresponding roster shuffle and placed outfielder Heston Kjerstad on the injured list with a concussion.
Rodriguez is 13-4 with a 3.86 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 10.0 K/9 over 116 2/3 innings (20 starts) this season.
