Quantrill, who allowed two runs over six innings in a 20-7 Rockies win, was removed before facing McGuire again. He chalked the brief melee up to being in the heat of competition.
"Listen, I recognize we were up by whatever we were up by, but I celebrate when I get important outs. He took offense to it, some words were exchanged, that's baseball," Quantrill said, per Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post. "We'll all move on."
The two clubs won't play again this season.
