The Atlanta Braves placed left-hander Max Fried on the 15-day injured list with left forearm neuritis, the team announced Sunday.
Fried's IL stint is backdated to July 18.
The 30-year-old hurler hasn't pitched in a regular season game since July 11, although he did pitch one frame in the All-Star Game on July 16.
Fried felt something in his forearm while warming up for the All-Star Game, but didn't think it was concerning enough to sit out, Braves manager Brian Snitker told The Athletic's David O'Brien.
The Braves had Fried undergo an MRI after the pain lingered on Friday. The scan showed no soft-tissue damage, but nerve irritation was present.
Snitker added the injury is "nothing major," and he's hopeful it'll be a brief IL stint, according to Gabe Burns of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Fried has been terrific for Atlanta, posting a 3.08 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in 108 innings. He's also thrown two complete games - including one shutout - this season.
It's been a tough year of injuries for the Braves, who are playing without star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. and ace Spencer Strider. They enter Sunday in the NL's first wild-card position.
Atlanta recalled left-hander Dylan Dodd to take Fried's spot on the active roster.
