Duran wins All-Star Game MVP after clubbing winning HR

Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran won the Ted Williams All-Star Game MVP award.

Duran came off the bench to club the game-winning two-run home run for the American League off Hunter Greene in a 5-3 victory over the National League.

He's the fifth Red Sox player to win All-Star Game MVP, joining Carl Yastrzemski (1970), Roger Clemens (1986), Pedro Martinez (1999), and J.D. Drew (2008).

"Honestly, I can't really put it into words right now. I'm kinda overwhelmed with emotions," Duran told Kevin Burkhardt of Fox Sports. "I'm just very thankful to be here, and to represent the Red Sox is a big honor."

Duran, who took over center field from starter Aaron Judge, finished his day 1-for-2 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored.

The 27-year-old earned his first career All-Star berth by hitting .283/.342/.477 with 10 homers, 41 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases during the first half of the season. He also leads the AL in both doubles (27) and triples (10).
