Baltimore Orioles ace Corbin Burnes will toe the rubber for the American League to start Tuesday's All-Star Game at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, the Orioles announced Monday.
Burnes, who was named an All-Star for a fourth straight season, will start the Midsummer Classic for the first time in his career. He was informed about the decision by Hall of Famer Pedro Martínez:
The 29-year-old owns a 2.43 ERA with 1.04 WHIP and 110 strikeouts over 118 2/3 innings (19 starts) for the AL East-leading Orioles. The right-hander can test free agency at the conclusion of the 2024 campaign.
Pittsburgh Pirates rookie phenom Paul Skenes will start for the National League.
