The New York Yankees fell apart in the bottom of the ninth inning of Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Orioles.

Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe committed a costly error with two outs on a routine play that cut New York's lead to 5-4.

"I didn't move my feet," Volpe said postgame, per MLB.com's Bryan Hoch. "That's a routine ground ball. Good infielders move their feet to get a good hop."

The Orioles took full advantage as Cedric Mullins lined a game-winning two-run double that Yankees outfielder Alex Verdugo misplayed.

The hit had an expected batting average of .138 and a catch probability of 99%, according to Statcast.

Verdugo took ownership of the loss, telling reporters postgame, "This one's on me."

The Yankees took two of the three games in their series to cut Baltimore's AL East lead down to one.
