New York Yankees left-hander Carlos Rodón was left frustrated after a third straight rough start.
Rodón allowed eight earned runs on 10 hits across five innings in Thursday's loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. The 31-year-old's ERA increased from 2.93 on June 10 to 4.42 following Thursday's outing.
"They put some really good swings on some fastballs tonight that I didn't execute," Rodón said Thursday, according to Greg Joyce of the New York Post. "It was not fun."
Rodón is in the second season of a six-year, $162-million contract. He struggled mightily in his first campaign with the Yankees, posting a 6.85 ERA in 14 starts while also missing time due to injury in 2023.
Rodón is hoping some tweaks will allow him to be sharper in his next start.
"The command is just not great right now," he said, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch. "There are some adjustments to be made this week. I just need to be better."
Rodón's next scheduled start will come next week when the Yankees host the Cincinnati Reds.
