Brewers trade reliever Vieira to Orioles in 3-player deal
The Milwaukee Brewers traded right-handed reliever Thyago Vieira and minor-league right-hander Aneuris Rodriguez to the Baltimore Orioles for minor-league right-hander Garrett Stallings, the teams announced Saturday.
Vieira is the only one of the three players with major-league experience, as he's appeared in 41 big-league games throughout his career.
The 31-year-old Brazilian owns a 6.18 ERA and 9.0 K/9 in 51 innings during five combined seasons with the Brewers, Seattle Mariners, and Chicago White Sox.
Rodriguez, 19, was pitching at rookie ball. The Dominican owned a 3.68 ERA, with 15 strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings in the Arizona Complex League this season.
The 26-year-old Stallings was a fifth-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Angels in 2019. He was traded by the Angels to the Orioles in 2020 as part of a package for shortstop Jose Iglesias.
Stallings has pitched all of the 2024 campaign with Triple-A Norfolk, posting a 5.67 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in 27 innings.
