New York Mets reliever Brooks Raley will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery next week, a source told Newsday's Tim Healey.
The Mets placed Raley on the 15-day injured list on April 21 with left elbow inflammation.
The 35-year-old's absence is a big blow to New York's bullpen. Raley didn't allow a run in seven innings this season, permitting two hits and three walks with nine strikeouts.
The Mets picked up Raley's $6.5-million option for 2024 after the veteran registered a 2.80 ERA with 61 strikeouts across 54 2/3 innings for the club last season.
