The Cincinnati Reds placed outfielder TJ Friedl on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left thumb, the team announced Monday.
Manager David Bell said Friedl will miss around four-to-five weeks, according to The Associated Press.
Friedl was removed from Sunday's game against the San Francisco Giants after he was hit by a pitch on the thumb.

It's been a rough year for Friedl, who recently returned to play six games for the Reds after fracturing his wrist attempting to make a diving catch in spring training. He's hitting .182/.250/.227 with one double and two RBIs in 24 plate appearances.
The 28-year-old had a breakout campaign for Cincinnati in 2023, slashing .279/.352/.467 with 18 home runs, 66 RBIs, and 27 steals.
Cincinnati recalled outfielder Jacob Hurtubise to take Friedl's spot on the active roster.
