Los Angeles Dodgers closer Evan Phillips was placed on the injured list with a Grade 1 hamstring strain after he got his spike caught in the grass playing catch Saturday, manager Dave Roberts said Sunday, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.

Roberts added that the team is hoping it's a minimum stint on the IL and that he's not sure who closes with the right-hander out.

"I honestly don't even know," the skipper said, according to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times. "We'll see. I think it's more of just managing the game and however the ninth inning falls out. We'll just sort of try to win every inning and manage the leverage."

Phillips has been terrific for the NL West-leading Dodgers to start the season, authoring a 0.66 ERA with eight saves and 17 strikeouts over 14 appearances. The 29-year-old owns a sparkling 1.64 ERA with 0.85 WHIP and 10.3 K/9 over a combined 148 1/3 innings since joining the club during the 2021 campaign.

Meanwhile, right-hander Blake Treinen was activated off the IL after recovering from rib fractures sustained during spring training.
