The Minnesota Twins reinstated star closer Jhoan Duran from the 15-day injured list, the club announced Tuesday.
Duran has yet to pitch this season after suffering a moderate oblique strain during spring training.
However, the 26-year-old right-hander's return gives Minnesota's bullpen another weapon amid the club's eight-game winning streak. The team's relievers already rank second in the majors with a combined 11.2 K/9 and third with a 2.54 ERA.
Duran posted a 2.45 ERA with 27 saves and 84 strikeouts over 62 1/3 innings in 2023.
The Twins designated right-hander Matt Bowman for assignment to make room for Duran.
