The Chicago White Sox placed third baseman Yoán Moncada on the 10-day injured list with a left adductor strain, the team announced Wednesday.

Moncada's recovery timetable is three-to-six months, according to the team.

The 28-year-old suffered the injury running to first base during Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Cleveland Guardians. He had to be helped off the field.

Moncada was off to a solid start through the team's first 11 games, posting a .774 OPS in 44 plate appearances. He's eligible for free agency at the end of the season if the White Sox decline his $25-million team option for 2025.

He joins Luis Robert Jr. (hip) and Eloy Jiménez (adductor) on Chicago's injured list.

The White Sox recalled outfielder Oscar Colás from Triple-A to take Moncada's spot on the active roster.
