The New York Mets agreed to a deal with veteran right-hander Julio Teheran, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman.
The reported pact will be of the major-league variety and is worth $2.5 million plus $450,000 in potential bonuses, a source told MLB.com's Anthony DiComo.
Teheran opted out of a contract with the Baltimore Orioles on March 24 after allowing five earned runs and striking out 10 during 13 1/3 spring innings.
The 33-year-old Colombia native tossed 71 2/3 frames for the Milwaukee Brewers last season, authoring a 4.40 ERA and 1.13 WHIP.
Teheran could join a depleted Mets rotation featuring Jose Quintana, Luis Severino, Sean Manaea, and Adrian Houser.
Kodai Senga, David Peterson, and Tylor Megill are all on the injured list.
