2024 fantasy baseball rankings: Catcher
Here are the 2024 fantasy catcher rankings for standard 5x5 leagues.
Rankings
Top 200 | C | 1B | 2B | 3B | SS | OF | SP | RP
Why Rutschman's No. 1: The Baltimore Orioles backstop is one of baseball's top young stars and the cream of the crop among catchers in fantasy. Rutschman led his position in hits and ranked among the top five catchers last season in home runs, runs scored, RBIs, batting average, and on-base percentage. You won't get steals from Rutschman like you would from Realmuto, but Steamer projects a better year at the plate for the Orioles catcher in every other important fantasy category.
Player worth reaching for: We listed Raleigh at eighth on our catcher rankings, but he's worth a reach if you're looking for homers and RBIs from the position. The Seattle Mariners backstop hit 27 and 30 homers, respectively, over the last two seasons while adding 138 RBIs across those campaigns.
Dark-horse pick: Minnesota Twins backstop Ryan Jeffers didn't make our top 20, but keep an eye on him as a dark-horse candidate. He'll likely slot into more games this season with Christian Vázquez's production dwindling. Jeffers performed well in 2023, hitting 14 homers with a .276 batting average and .369 on-base percentage in 96 contests.
