Tigers add Urshela on 1-year, $1.5M deal

The Detroit Tigers and infielder Gio Urshela agreed to a one-year, $1.5-million contract, the club announced Thursday.
The pact includes performance incentives, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
Urshela recorded two homers with 24 RBIs and a .703 OPS over 62 games during an injury-riddled campaign with the Los Angeles Angels in 2023.
However, the 32-year-old slashed .285/.338/.429 with 13 round-trippers and 64 RBIs over 144 contests with the Minnesota Twins two years ago.
Urshela has primarily played third base over his eight-year career, making 512 starts at the hot corner. He's also suited up at shortstop and first base.
