Joey Votto will likely have a new home in 2024 for the first time in his 17-year career.
The Los Angeles Angels are in on the free-agent first baseman, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
Votto, 40, could serve as a designated hitter for the Angels after the club lost Shohei Ohtani.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati Reds president of baseball operations Nick Krall told season-ticket holders that the team doesn't plan to bring back the 2010 NL MVP at this point, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com.
In November, the Reds declined Votto's $20-million club option.
The six-time All-Star went deep 14 times with 38 RBIs and a .747 OPS over 65 games during a second straight injury-plagued season in 2023.
