The New York Mets and left-hander Sean Manaea agreed to a two-year, $28-million contract, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
The pact includes an opt-out clause for Manaea after the 2024 campaign, per Heyman.
The 31-year-old reportedly joins a rotation that's led by Kodai Senga. José Quintana, David Peterson, and Joey Lucchesi, and newcomers Adrian Houser and Luis Severino are all expected to compete for spots as well.
Manaea authored a 4.44 ERA, 3.90 FIP, 1.24 WHIP, and 128 strikeouts over 117 2/3 innings (10 starts) with the San Francisco Giants last season. The eight-year veteran has also played for the San Diego Padres and Oakland Athletics.
