The Cleveland Guardians and veteran catcher Austin Hedges agreed to a one-year, $4-million contract, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

Hedges played with the Guardians from 2020-22 before suiting up for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Texas Rangers last season.

The nine-year veteran owns a career .189/.246/.321 slash line with 67 homers and 223 RBIs over 686 games. However, he's better known for his play behind the plate, as he was in the 90th percentile in blocks above average and 98th in framing during the 2023 campaign.

Hedges, 31, is expected to back up Bo Naylor next season.
