The Philadelphia Phillies are back in the postseason after Johan Rojas delivered a walk-off RBI single in extras to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-2 at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday.

Philadelphia locked up the NL's top wild-card spot after the Chicago Cubs lost to the Atlanta Braves, which means the Phillies will begin the postseason with a best-of-three series at home.

The Phillies are returning to the playoffs after losing to the Houston Astros in the 2022 World Series.

"I think we're a better team this year than we were last year," Phillies owner John Middleton said, according to Dan Gelston of The Associated Press.

Manager Rob Thomson spoke to his club before being showered with champagne following the dramatic win:

The Phillies will be playing in October in back-to-back campaigns for the first time since making five consecutive appearances between 2007-11.
