Major League Baseball and Louisville Slugger announced the finalists for the first-ever Silver Slugger Team Awards on Tuesday.

The finalists in the American League are the Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, Tampa Bay Rays, and Texas Rangers.

The Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, and San Diego Padres are the finalists in the National League.

"Every year, there are a handful of teams in each league that are capable of hanging crooked numbers on a near-nightly basis, and with the introduction of the Silver Slugger Team Award, these clubs will get their due alongside the standout individual offensive performers in the game," said Louisville Slugger representative Jake Misener.

"Being able to involve MLB fans across the country and giving them a voice just adds another layer of excitement to the continuing legacy of the Silver Slugger Award."

The Braves and Rangers sit first and second in the majors in fWAR, respectively. Atlanta is also closing in on 300 homers for the season, entering Tuesday with 299 as a team.

Fans can vote for their choice among the finalists on MLB.com, with the winners being revealed on MLB Network's Silver Slugger Award show in November.
