Toronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen will miss the remainder of the regular season after undergoing surgery to repair his fractured right middle finger, manager John Schneider said Friday, according to The Athletic's Kaitlyn McGrath.

Jansen isn't ruled out for the postseason if the Blue Jays make it, Schneider added.

The 28-year-old suffered the injury when he was hit on the hand by a foul ball during a game against the Colorado Rockies on Sept. 1.

Jansen was enjoying a productive season at the plate before the injury. He owns a .786 OPS with 17 home runs and 53 RBIs across 86 games.

Jansen has only played 100 or more games once in his six-year career, as he's battled a number of different injuries.
