The Milwaukee Brewers signed third baseman Josh Donaldson to a minor-league contract, the team announced Thursday, according to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Donaldson, who was released by the New York Yankees on Tuesday, will report to Triple-A as he continues to ramp up from a calf ailment.
The 37-year-old would be eligible to play in the postseason if the Brewers qualify.
Milwaukee will visit New York for a three-game series starting Sept. 8.
Donaldson has gone deep 10 times with a .659 OPS over 33 games during an injury-riddled 2023 campaign with the Yankees.
The 2015 AL MVP owns a career .262/.359/.491 slash line with 276 homers and 805 RBIs over 1,366 contests between the Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays, Cleveland Guardians, Atlanta Braves, Minnesota Twins, and Yankees.
