Los Angeles Angels right-hander Chase Silseth was forced to leave Saturday's game against the New York Mets in the fourth inning after he was struck in the side of the head by an errant throw on a pickoff play from Angels first baseman Trey Cabbage.

Silseth stayed down on the field for several minutes before he was able to walk off the field on his own, according to The Athletic's Sam Blum.

The 23-year-old is in his second season with the Angels. He owns a 4-1 record with a 3.91 ERA and 53 strikeouts across 48 1/3 innings in 2023.
