Mets' Alonso likely out 3-4 weeks with left wrist injury
The New York Mets placed star slugger Pete Alonso on the injured list with a left wrist bone bruise and sprain, the team announced Friday.
The Mets' announcement said it typically takes three-to-four weeks for a player to return from this type of injury.
The two-time All-Star first baseman was removed from Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Braves after getting hit on the hand and wrist by a pitch.
