The Oakland Athletics and reliever Jeurys Familia agreed to a one-year contract, the team announced Sunday.
Familia was released by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday despite allowing just one earned run over eight appearances this spring.
The right-hander is coming off the worst season of his career, posting a 6.09 ERA with 1.80 WHIP and 41 strikeouts over 44 1/3 innings between the Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox.
Familia, 33, led the majors with 51 saves during an All-Star campaign with the New York Mets in 2016.
