Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Carson Kelly suffered a fractured right forearm, manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday, according to the Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro.

Lovullo didn't add a timetable for the backstop's return.

Kelly was hit by a pitch during a spring training game against the Chicago White Sox on Monday. The 28-year-old initially stayed in the contest but was removed for a pinch runner.

Kelly admitted his level of concern about his forearm was "not minimal" after he continued to experience a considerable amount of pain following the game, per Piecoro.

The 28-year-old is the latest Diamondbacks catcher to be removed from a contest because of a hit-by-pitch. Gabriel Moreno exited a spring game Saturday after he was hit on the left hand.

Moreno is expected to play Tuesday against the Los Angeles Angels.

Arizona will likely turn to Moreno and Jose Herrera as a catching duo if Kelly is out long term.
