Atlanta Braves right-hander Spencer Strider is coming off an incredible breakout rookie campaign, but he still wishes he could've done more.

The Braves tabbed their young flamethrower for Game 3 with their National League Division Series matchup tied 1-1 against the Philadelphia Phillies. However, Strider struggled at Citizens Bank Park in his first postseason action, allowing five runs on three hits and two walks over 2 1/3 innings while taking the loss. Philadelphia also won Game 4 en route to an NL pennant.

"I take responsibility for our whole season falling apart," Strider told Jake Mintz of Fox Sports.

Sidelined since Sept. 18 with an oblique injury, Strider's return to action began strong. He allowed zero baserunners over two innings while striking out Rhys Hoskins, J.T. Realmuto, and Bryce Harper. But he unraveled in the third inning, allowing a three-run homer to Hoskins and a Realmuto base hit before being removed from the contest.

"I needed to adjust to my limitations at the time," Strider continued. "I was hard-headed thinking I could throw five innings after not pitching for a month. That was a situation where I should have changed what I was doing. To me, that's a lack of preparation."

Strider, 24, finished runner-up in NL Rookie of the Year voting, losing to teammate Michael Harris II. He authored a remarkable 2.67 ERA and 1.83 FIP over 131 2/3 innings while posting an incredible 13.8 K/9.
