Nolan Arenado wants to be at the top of the World Baseball Classic again.

The St. Louis Cardinals star third baseman is determined to help Team USA repeat as champions after the Americans won the 2017 tournament - the last time the event was held.

"We're playing this to win the gold medal," Arenado said Tuesday, according to the MLBPA. "We were the last team to win it and we want to do it again. There's no other goals other than that."

Arenado's St. Louis and U.S. teammate, Paul Goldschmidt, echoed similar feelings.

"I want to win more than anything," Goldschmidt added. "That's 100% where my mind is at."

Goldschmidt praised Arenado for laying down a bunt during Game 3 of the Championship Round against Puerto Rico in 2017, according to Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Right-hander Adam Wainwright, another member of the Cardinals and the U.S. squad, would also have no issue bunting to help the team.

"I'll come in and bunt right now, Goldy. I'd love to get in there and lay a bunt down."

The Americans will be in Pool C with Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and Great Britain.

The WBC runs from March 8-21.
