The Baltimore Orioles are wasting no time in giving No. 1 overall pick Jackson Holliday a taste of big-league action.

The Orioles announced on Thursday the prized shortstop prospect was among 30 non-roster players invited to major-league spring training.

Holliday has 20 games of professional experience under his belt since the Orioles selected him with the top pick in July.

The 19-year-old hit .297/.489/.422 with five doubles, nine RBIs, and four steals between Rookie and Single-A ball in 2022 after he was drafted.

If he makes the Orioles' Opening Day roster, the son of former big-league All-Star Matt Holliday would be the first 19-year-old to play in the majors since Elvis Luciano suited up for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2019.
