The Atlanta Braves signed manager Brian Snitker to a contract extension that runs through the 2025 campaign, the team announced Friday.

Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Snitker took over as Braves manager in 2016 and has led the club to five straight NL East championships along with the 2021 World Series title. The 67-year-old was the NL Manager of the Year in 2018 and has received votes for the award in each of the last four seasons.

Overall, the Braves have posted a .546 winning percentage under Snitker, while his 542 wins rank fifth in franchise history. The skipper has helped develop several prospects during his tenure, including former All-Stars Max Fried, Austin Riley, Ozzie Albies, and Ronald Acuna Jr.

Snitker has been a fixture in the Braves organization since 1977 when he played his first of four seasons in their minor-league system. Over his 46 years with the team, he's served in a variety of roles, including coaching and managing in the minor leagues and several years on Atlanta's big-league coaching staff.
