The Houston Astros re-signed outfielder/designated hitter Michael Brantley to a one-year, $12-million deal, sources told The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

Brantley's reported pact, which is pending a physical, includes $4 million in performance bonuses, according to the New York Post's Joel Sherman.

The 35-year-old hit .288/.370/.416 with 14 doubles and 26 RBIs in 64 games last season while earning $16 million.

Brantley missed most of the 2022 campaign after undergoing right shoulder surgery.

The five-time All-Star has spent the past four seasons with the Astros, slashing .306/.368/.464 with 40 home runs, 98 doubles, and 185 RBIs in 379 games.

Brantley should slot into the middle of the order for an impressive Astros squad that includes Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, and newly-acquired Jose Abreu.

Brantley spent 10 seasons with Cleveland before joining Houston in 2019.
