Report: Twins eyeing Rodon in free agency
The Minnesota Twins are interested in signing All-Star pitcher Carlos Rodon, according to Dan Hayes of The Athletic.
However, the Twins might be put off over Rodon's asking price, Hayes notes.
The left-hander is coming off a career season with the San Francisco Giants, accruing a 2.88 ERA with 237 strikeouts over 178 innings (31 starts). He also amassed the second-best fWAR (6.1) among hurlers in the majors during the 2022 campaign.
Adding a pitcher like Rodon would give Minnesota one of the American League's best rotations, which already projects to feature Sonny Gray, Joe Ryan, Tyler Mahle, Kenta Maeda, and Bailey Ober.
The Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Giants are also reportedly interested in the 29-year-old.
