Athletics, Reds to play 2023 exhibition series in Vegas

The Oakland Athletics and Cincinnati Reds will take part in a two-game spring training series in Las Vegas on March 4-5, 2023, the Athletics' Triple-A affiliate Las Vegas Aviators announced Monday.
The contests will be played at Las Vegas Ballpark, which is the home of the Aviators. The facility can seat 10,000 fans.
The Athletics have explored the idea of relocating the team to Las Vegas and building a new stadium. The club has played in Oakland since 1968, but its current lease with RingCentral Coliseum ends after the 2024 campaign.
Negotiations between the Athletics and government officials over a new ballpark in Oakland have also stalled.
