The National Baseball Hall of Fame announced its contemporary era player ballot Monday, including eight former players vying for induction into Cooperstown after not getting the requisite support from the Baseball Writers' Association of America.

Albert Belle, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Don Mattingly, Fred McGriff, Dale Murphy, Rafael Palmeiro, and Curt Schilling are the candidates.

Bonds, Clemens, and Schilling officially fell off the BBWAA's balloting system in 2021 after spending 10 years earning mixed support from writers but ultimately falling shy of the 75% threshold. Bonds received 66% support in his final year, Clemens earned 65.2%, and Schilling got 58.6%.

The Contemporary Baseball Era Players Committee is a 16-member board. Any member of the eight-player ballot who earns 75% of votes (12 or more committee members) will be added to the 2023 Hall of Fame class.

The results will be announced Dec. 4 at baseball's winter meetings.
