Yankees manager Aaron Boone wasn't ready to wilt after hearing fans chant "fire Boone" during Wednesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays before a dramatic New York comeback in extra innings.

Boone said he stood up taller on the dugout steps while the fans chanted because he "wanted to make sure they could see me," according to Michael Kay of ESPN.

He added the chants and boos go with "the territory sometimes" of being part of the Yankees organization.

The Yankees had lost 11 out of 13 games and looked poised to be swept by the Rays before Josh Donaldson hit a walk-off grand slam.
