Braves right-hander Spencer Strider isn't ready to give the New York Mets their dues despite Atlanta losing four contests in a five-game series against its division rival.

"A lot of weird hits. They seem to be having a lot of luck right now offensively. That's great. It's August. (We'll) see what things are like in October," Strider said after surrendering four earned runs on six hits in just 2 2/3 innings in Sunday's loss, according to Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The star rookie added that he's looking forward to facing the Mets again soon.

"I think I speak for all of us when I say we want to play them again," Strider said, according to Mark Bowman of MLB.com. "We've got seven more games against them, all at Truist (Park). We'll have them down there next week (for a four-game series). We'll run it back and see what happens."

Atlanta fell to 6 1/2 games behind New York for the NL East division lead following the five-game series.

The defending World Series champion Braves are looking for their fifth straight division title, while the Mets have only won the division three times since 1988, with the last time being 2015 - their most recent Fall Classic appearance.
