Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Alek Manoah exited Friday's game against the Detroit Tigers in the sixth inning after taking a 92.7-mph comebacker off his right elbow.
The Blue Jays announced Manoah suffered a right elbow contusion. He underwent precautionary X-rays, which came back negative. Interim manager John Schneider said postgame that Manoah is considered day-to-day, and his status for his next start isn't clear.
"We'll see how everything feels tomorrow and go from there," Schneider said, according to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.
Manoah added he's feeling "good" now that the "initial shock" of the liner has worn off, according to Ethan Diamandas of Sports Illustrated.
Manoah's injury comes after George Springer and Bo Bichette were left out of Friday's lineup with elbow and shoulder soreness, respectively.
The 24-year-old All-Star is in the midst of a stellar campaign for Toronto, entering Friday's start with an 11-4 record accompanied by a 2.24 ERA and 0.97 WHIP.
