Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Chris Taylor has a fractured left foot and will likely be placed on the injured list Wednesday, he told reporters, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register.

The fracture is small, Taylor said, and there's no immediate timetable for his return.

"Not what I was hoping, obviously. Definitely a surprise to me," Taylor told SportsNet LA, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.

Taylor was originally removed from Saturday's game against the San Diego Padres with a left foot contusion. At the time, X-rays were negative, and he returned to the Dodgers' lineup Monday. But continued issues forced him to depart Monday's contest with a swollen left ankle. A CT scan then confirmed the break.

The 31-year-old re-signed with the Dodgers on a four-year, $60-million contract this offseason following an All-Star campaign in 2021. Taylor is hitting .238/.319/.409 with six homers, 27 RBIs, and six stolen bases through 74 games this season.
