The Toronto Blue Jays signed left-hander Derek Holland to a minor-league deal, the pitcher announced on Wednesday.
Holland opted out of a minor-league deal with the Boston Red Sox earlier this week and should provide the Blue Jays with veteran left-handed depth.
The 35-year-old appeared in 11 games this season for Triple-A Worcester, authoring a 6.35 ERA and 10.3 K/9 in 11 1/3 innings.
Holland spent the 2021 campaign with the Detroit Tigers making 29 appearances, including one start. He recorded a 3.96 FIP with 51 strikeouts over 49 2/3 innings.
Holland owns an 82-83 record with a 4.62 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 1,466 innings during his 13-year career.
