The Toronto Blue Jays are in the market to supplement the production they lost when Marcus Semien signed with the Texas Rangers, and it looks like they have their eyes on Kyle Schwarber.

Toronto is among a number of teams with strong interest in the slugger, sources told The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal. The 29-year-old would give the Blue Jays a power threat and a much-needed left-handed presence in their lineup.

Schwarber is coming off a terrific campaign where he hit .266/.374/.554 with 32 home runs, 19 doubles, and 71 RBIs in 113 games split between the Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox. He posted a .990 OPS against right-handed pitching last season.

The one-time All-Star has mashed 153 homers with an .836 OPS throughout a seven-year career that began with the Chicago Cubs.

It's likely he would slot in as a full-time designated hitter with the Blue Jays, but he is capable of playing the outfield and also got into some games at first base last season.

The Philadelphia Phillies are one of the other clubs interested in Schwarber, according to Rosenthal, while a reunion with the Red Sox has also been rumored.
