The Tampa Bay Rays and free-agent right-hander Corey Kluber agreed to a one-year deal, pending a physical, sources told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Kluber, a two-time Cy Young award winner, will make $8 million in 2022. His contract includes performance incentives, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
The 35-year-old missed more than three months last season with a right shoulder strain. He posted a 3.83 ERA with 82 strikeouts over 16 starts (80 innings), including a no-hitter.
The three-time All-Star owns a career 3.19 ERA and 1.10 WHIP across 11 years with the Yankees, Texas Rangers, and Cleveland Guardians.
