The Cincinnati Reds signed manager David Bell to a two-year contract extension, the skipper announced Wednesday, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer's Bobby Nightengale.

"It's a great job," Bell said. "I love my job. I don't have anything to compare it to, but there is no way in the world that I could have a better situation."

Bell said he expects to have all of his coaching staff return next season.

The former big-league infielder owns a 184-190 record since joining Cincinnati in 2019, including a 78-74 mark this season. The Reds trail the St. Louis Cardinals by four games for the second wild-card spot in the National League.

Cincinnati qualified for the playoffs in 2020, marking the club's first appearance in the postseason since 2013.
