Nationals trade Harrison, Gomes to A's
Washington received catcher Drew Millas and right-handers Seth Shuman and Richard Guasch.
Harrison rejuvenated his career in Washington, hitting .291/.363/.431 with 25 doubles, 52 RBIs, and six steals over 123 games after signing with the Nationals in July 2020.
The 34-year-old, who's a free agent at the end of the season, is also a versatile defender. He's appeared at eight different positions throughout his career, with second base his primary spot.
Gomes, meanwhile, gives the A's a veteran presence behind the plate to team with Sean Murphy.
The 34-year-old backstop is hitting .271/.323/.454 with nine home runs and 35 RBIs this season. He's a free agent at the end of the campaign.
Millas is the only one of the three players headed to the Nationals who was among the Athletics' top 30 on MLB Pipeline.
