The Chicago White Sox are down another key bat.
Catcher Yasmani Grandal suffered a torn tendon in his left knee during Monday's game against the Minnesota Twins, the team announced.
Chicago placed Grandal on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, and he's expected to miss around four-to-six weeks. The White Sox recalled catcher Seby Zavala from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move.
Grandal sustained the injury on a check swing during his sixth-inning at-bat Monday. He needed help off the field and was seen using crutches postgame.

The 32-year-old is hitting .188/.388/.436 with 14 home runs, 38 RBIs, and 60 walks across 63 games this season.
Grandal is the latest White Sox position player to suffer a serious injury. The team is in first place despite the long-term absences of outfielders Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert, and second baseman Nick Madrigal, among others.
Zack Collins will likely assume everyday catching duties while Grandal is out. Zavala was chosen to act as Collins' back-up over other options, including Yermin Mercedes, because Chicago thinks highly of his game-calling abilities, manager Tony La Russa said, according to James Fegan of The Athletic.
