The Chicago White Sox are the favorites to ink two-way star Oscar Colas when international free agents are able to sign starting on Jan. 15, 2022, a source told Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com.

The contract is reportedly expected to be for $2.7 million.

Colas is known as the "Cuban Ohtani" for his ability to hit and pitch - he features a 95-mph fastball. However, he doesn't plan to take the mound with the White Sox, according to Sanchez.

The 22-year-old is one of the top international prospects and can play all three outfield positions.

The White Sox have a long history with Cuban players. Reigning AL MVP Jose Abreu, 2020 Rookie of the Year runner-up Luis Robert, and Yoan Moncada all hail from the country, while Jose Contreras, Alexei Ramirez, and Orlando Hernandez are fellow countrymen who've played on the South Side in the past. Chicago also signed top international free agent Yoelqui Cespedes in January.
