Braves' Ynoa out months with broken hand after punching dugout bench

Atlanta Braves right-hander Huascar Ynoa will miss at least a couple of months after breaking his hand when he punched a dugout bench in frustration as he left Sunday's start, according to David O'Brien of The Athletic.

"It's a shame," manager Brian Snitker said, according to O'Brien. "Probably nobody that feels any worse than him."

The Braves placed Ynoa on the 10-day injured list and recalled Edgar Santana in a corresponding move.

The 22-year-old allowed five earned runs on nine hits and two walks over 4 1/3 innings in a losing effort against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Ynoa entered Sunday's outing 4-1 with a 2.23 ERA and 0.89 WHIP over eight appearances (seven starts). The poor outing ballooned his ERA to 3.02.

Ynoa's injury is a huge blow to a Braves rotation that's been without right-hander Mike Soroka all season.
